House Moving

When the owners of this home decided to rebuild new and bigger, they decided to call us instead of demolishing this house.

Dave & Sally decided they wanted to rebuild on their same lot. They loved their location and were looking to expand their family. They have been living at this same location for the past 5 years and this neighborhood fits their lifestyle. It was brought to their attention that having the house moved instead of demolishing it would be a wise choice. They did appreciate the fact that the home would be recycled and reused by others.

Demolition can be a costly ordeal and asks for work and organization and hiring the special company with the correct equipment. On top of that, demolition is so nasty for our landfills as many tons of waste are brought to the dumpsite when a home is destroyed.

We went to visit with the couple and explained that they had to have the utilities unplugged and to assure we had total accessibility to the home. Dave and Sally were sold on the idea of having us move their home. We configured a contract that was to everyone’s agreement and the Deal was done. We took some pictures, we had a few people come to visit the house and a gentleman was interested in the home.

We evaluated the route to bring the home to the gentleman’s lot which was about 20 km from Dave & Sally’s piece of land. Another agreement was signed between Jake, the gentleman, and our company and the move was scheduled for a later date.

While we filled out permit application for the move, Jake did prepare his yard to receive the home. He had a cement foundation poured because he saw the benefit of having a basement for his new residence.

There was a day of preparation in order to be ready for the move. Piers were built and Beams were installed. We could now roll the house off of her initial foundation. The day of the move, we schedule our pilot trucks that accompany the load and also manage traffic. We have the Tractor that pulls the house and we always follow with a boom truck which is also our service truck that has all our tools. We left after traffic hours and moved the home to its new location with no snag.

The Advantages of Having a house moved instead of demolishing it is quite beneficial! First and Foremost, it is recycled so no waste, that is the biggest and most important reason a house should be moved. Then homes are often times in very good conditions. Just because it would not suit one family, it does not mean it would not suit another.
